Group Swimming

Hello Rushi Members,

First, thank you Sumin who allowed me to contribute something to the blog. My name is Chi Kin Tam and you can call me Chi Kin / Chi. I must mention that I never written a blog in my life, so please forgive me if there are silly spelling and grammatical errors. :)

As you can see the title above "Swimming" , I'm here to find out are there any members interested in swimming? Actually, I have posted questions through the CBOX since (23/3) wednesday to determine any Rushi members who are interested in swimming. I received some positive responses until today. There are currently five peoples (e.g: Kinsern, Zoe, Lay Sim, Hui Ren and Piggy ^o^) who already expressed their interest in swimming. Good on ya' guys and girls. :) .

Since the responses are good, then we can start some real planning. Here are the proposed planning steps:
  1. Lets start with how many members are interested. Then step 2.
  2. It is important to check whether the interested members are keen on doing the swimming every week or every fortnight. Then Step 3.
  3. Obviously, It would be good for those who can't swim or swim well to get involve as well. There's no shame if you can't swim and is never too late to learn swimming. It will be a mixture of those can and can't swim. Members who already know how to swim should teach those who want to learn swimming. Let me figure out the way of getting some swim board to help the learner.
  4. Time and location. Thursday 7.15p.m or Wednesday 7.15p.m starts at the adelaide aquatic centre. Swim time will be approximate 45mins-1hr or longer if you prefer. There are spas, sauna and steam facilities available at the aquatic centre. If any members have any suggestion regarding alternative time, please do not hesitate to comment.
  5. Swim Objectives: This depends on personal preference. The 50m swim pool is normally divided into 2 parts as in 2x25m. The proposed aim is to complete 500m or 20laps or 1000m or 40laps for those hardcore. Take your time, this is not a race or competition but to aim that you actually complete the swim laps.
  6. Price: Student price is $5.80/entry and adult price is $6.80 / entry. There are 30 multipass entry which can last a year can be purchased at $130.50 for students and $153.00 for adults. Mmm, price could be an issue for the members, but at the end of the day, the benefits are yours. For more understanding regarding swimming benefits, please go to http://swimming.about.com/od/swimworkouts/a/swim_benefit.htm

If you have any comments regarding the proposed planning steps, please do not hesitate to comment. Any good suggestions are always welcome. :)

My suggestion is swimming can be really fun and enjoyable if you are really into it. Please do not hesitate to comment regarding this post and lets see how the progress goes and we have a discussion after the FDC.

"Be Active and Get Involved" :)

Cheers
